Job Description:
Responsible for managing regional ITS functions within the
Client regulated organizations Through direct and indirect staff. Manage Client
Technology teams with respect to ensuring the delivery of day- to-day support,
determining user needs and incorporating them into the design and overall plan
for desktop support, project management, and assuring overall satisfaction of
ITS Client Services performance within their region. Manage Client Services
teams with respect to resource management, project scheduling, technical
direction, strategic planning, and standard service level practices. Works with
regional organization and executives to support established performance metrics
and ensure needs are being properly met. Focus on defining, implementing, and
integrating quality principles and quality processes.
Key Accountability
Business Support:
• Serve as the advocate of ITS standards and the interface
between the clients and the ITS organization to expedite requests and monitor
completion of their outstanding issues and business solutions-in-progress.
• Manage a full range of application management support,
including project management, program office management, requirements and
business case analysis, design, development, quality assurance and performance
management.
• Shape the solution strategy by working closely with
business teams in determining alternatives for addressing business challenges.
• Help clients achieve their business goals by utilizing,
integrating and supporting mission-critical applications for optimized quality,
increased business value, faster time-to-market and reduced total cost of
operations.
• Build and maintain regional relationship within operating
organization and their executive management team to address ITS needs.
Drive efforts within region to meet the computing equipment,
operational, and software training needs.
Planning & Execution:
• Provide regional leadership and/or guidance in strategic
planning, tactical execution, project management, process management and
business systems requirements definition.
• Support regional planning and prioritization for business
process engineering related activities, including developing the business unit
process engineering plan and integrating that with the corporate plan
• Ensure regional delivery of high quality solutions, on
time, within budget, and that meet or exceed customer expectations.
Project Requirements:
• Assure established policies and practices are adhered to
during the design, development, and deployment of all project related
activities
• Oversee maintenance, support, and upgrade activities for
existing application solutions.
• Manage and report on project budget with respect to staff
hours, hardware and software purchases, and consultant hours.
• Champion the adherence to quality principles in business
and IT processes and ensure deliverables meet high quality standards.
Service Level Assurance:
• Manages Service Level reporting functions including
tracking, analyzing and making recommendations (via meetings, presentations,
status reporting, etc.) to regional business management and clients.
Vendor Relationships:
• Research, recommend, and implement cost-efficient means of
improving quality of product. Manage and negotiate with vendors and contractors
as required.
• Work with vendors and other managers in keeping current
roadmaps of technology and applications for the utility industry
• Develop and maintain strong relationship with application
vendors in order to keep current with changes in the market place.
Staff Management:
• Manage staff and activities of a Region’s ITS personnel by
providing direct information systems planning, administrative oversight, salary
administration, performance expectation setting, and providing timely
performance feedback.
• Ensure career planning and guidance is available to staff
and included as part of the performance review process.
• Motivate and inspire teams while promoting corporate core
values.

• Demonstrated ability/experience with development of
system/application documentation and/or training manuals.

including presentation expertise as well as the ability to express, orally and
in writing, complex technical issues.

• Minimum 7 years of IT management experience, including
prior experience with project management, IT clients relationship management,
technical client support (or call center) teams, and/or communications/networks
or development.
• Experience in developing and conducting test processes for
multiple types of technologies across an organization.
• Experience with the utility industry is desirable, but not
required.
Knowledge:
• Expert knowledge of information systems and solutions used
to support client needs, hardware and appropriate platform/environment,
networks and communications systems and structure, and communications
technology.
• Demonstrated knowledge/proficiency and comprehension of
core business functions, processes and operations and ITS service and
deliverables in place within the assigned region.
• Strong knowledge and prior experience with project
management, IS network and communications methodologies and tools and
"best practices" methodology in those areas.
• Knowledge of business applications, Microsoft Office
products and productivity tools (e.g., word processing, spreadsheet,
presentation, database, MS Project, Lotus Notes).
• Knowledge of suppliers and vendors qualifications which
support the ITS infrastructure as well as those which support client needs
Key Interfaces:
• Division Presidents, and other Vice Presidents
• Senior ITS management as well as senior business
representation across the enterprise
• ITS business partners, and business users across the
corporation
• Project Managers
• Regional and Local ITS Staff
• Regional and Service Co Business, including Shared
Services and Customer Service (Call Centers)
