Responsibilities:
Business Intelligence developer will be a core global team member to provide expertise in SSAS, Reporting Services, data modeling, SSIS and BI development to support/enhance the existing data integration and reporting architecture frameworks/functionalities. Candidate will assist for reviewing and clarifying business requirement documents as well as BI related development.  The individual needs to have broad development experience in developing BI reporting. The department currently encompasses the use of SQL Server and Oracle. The candidate will also assist to evaluate and test emerging business intelligence reporting tools to enhance reporting functionalities for future needs.

Main Duties
The main responsibility of the candidate will be to develop and  maintain, and enhance data marts, OLAP reporting development using SSAS/SSRS/PerformancePoint/PowerPivot, database and reporting functionalities. The candidate should be innovative and forward looking and is able to take challenges in a fast environment. The requirements for BI development are growing rapidly so the candidate must be able to think quickly but always be looking for new ways to improve the existing technology and framework under tight deadlines.

·         Experience in all aspects of data analysis, data mart design and development, Microsoft business intelligence development including OLAP cube(SSAS), Reporting Services, SSIS development, PerformancePoint
·         Experience in data warehouse design and architecture
·         Experience in data quality, KPIs and dashboards development
·         Review/clarify business requirements with team members and business analysts
·         Support and troubleshooting performance issues in OLAP cube, database, ETL and query performance
·         Coordinate BI related activities such as scheduled maintenance, upgrade, performance tuning and trouble shooting
·         Assist with team members to understand functionalities and coordinate with global testing team for QA/UAT process
·         Willing to learn new technologies and adapt new changes
·         Occasionally assist development other than regular duties

Person Requirements Basic Qualifications-

·         Solid understand of Enterprise business intelligence and data warehouse design methodologies
·         Demonstrated  experience in Microsoft BI solutions including SSAS/SSRS/SSIS, large OLAP cube, PerformancePoint/PowerPivot
·         Experience in SQL (MS SQL Server 2005/2008) technology is a must.
·         Experience in large data warehouse
·         Degree in engineering, computing or other numerate discipline
·         7+ years of development experience in IT
·         5+ years of SQL Server OLAP cube and data mart development
·         3+ years of XMLA/MDX/AMO
·         5+ years of SQL Server database development
·         5+ years of SQL/procedure/view/function/trigger development and performance tuning
·         3+ years of SSRS/PerformancePoint reporting and dashboard development
·         2+ years of SSIS development and management
·         1+ years of ERwin or other data modeling tool
·         1+ years of VB script
·         Preferred Qualifications-

·         Previous experience in .Net development and integrate with reporting application is a big plus
·         Understand other BI tool such as Cognos.QlikView or Business Objects is a big plus
·         Experience in Office Web Components is a big plus
·         Experience with Information 8.X for ETL development is a plus
·         Knowledge of all phases of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

Primary Role:
Responsible for the scoping, planning, and execution of multiple, small to medium-size IT projects using American Water Project Management Methodology. Successfully manages the day-to-day activities of projects through the project life cycle from initiation to close including requirements gathering, system analysis/design, development/configuration, testing and implementation phases. Key Accountabilities:
·         Performs a project leader role, providing planning, direction, coordination, and daily supervision to the project team to ensure the objectives and tasks of the project are accomplished on time and within budget. 
·         Consults with the business departments and process owners in defining business requirements and ensuring the solution meets those requirements.
·         Ensures that the project team follows proper life cycle development techniques, PMO processes and procedures, and company and internal policies and practices. 
·         Prepares projects for the ITS Steering Committee & CIMC governance.
·         Ensures the project deliverables are stored and maintained in the project repository and meet all documentation requirements for quality. 
·         Identifies, tracks, escalates, and helps solve project issues, conflicts, and problems. 
·         Identifies and tracks project risks and mitigates risks that jeopardize the project deliverables.
·         Forecasts project costs, resource requirements, and timelines.  Works with ITS Managers and Human Resources to staff for each phase of the project.  
·         Manages changes in project scope via the Scope Change process

Education:
·         Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science or related discipline. Significant additional experience and/or  certifications or other education and training may be substituted for each year of formal education.
·         Strong interpersonal, people and people management skills (e.g. listening, coaching, facilitating, tact/diplomacy, employee relations, development, motivation, team building).
·         Good consulting, client relations skills and customer service orientation.
·         Excellent planning, time management and organization skills.
·         Good verbal and written communications skills, including presentation expertise.

·         Expert data modeling skills (i.e. conceptual, logical and physical model design - with both traditional 3 rd normal form as well as dimensional modeling (star, snowflake), experience with Operation Data Stores, Enterprise Data Warehouses and Data Marts
·         Expert with pro's and con's of multiple warehouse architectures
·         Expert RDBMS knowledge of Oracle (release 9i and 10g) including very large databases
·         Expert in load design strategies and optimization techniques
·         Implementation experience with ETL concepts and tools such as: DataStage, Informatica, Oracle Warehouse Builder
·         Implementation experience with one or more of the following BI/Enterprise Reporting tools: Business Objects, Oracle Discoverer, Cognos, Brio, and Micro strategy
·         Possess strong communication and client management skills.
·         Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
·         BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience in a relevant field
·         Extensive Experience with writing Oracle Procedures, Packages, Functions to support application development
·         Strong Knowledge of writing PL/SQL scripts to manipulate data and create ad-hoc reports
·         Analyze and load data from different sources (flat files, other databases)
·         Strong Knowledge of primary / foreign keys, indexes, constraints, views, schemas etc.
·         Strong Knowledge of Query performance tuning

·         The Consultant resource(s) shall possess most of the following skills:
